Meadowlark Christian School was formed in 1982 by Christian parents who wanted their children to experience learning in the context of faith. By 1983 enrollment had reached 130 and facilitated the move to Our Lady of Lourdes School. One year later, with 150 students enrolled, MCS was relocated to Notre Dame School. In 1989, the school moved to its present location.
MCS was initially established as an accredited private school under the Alberta School Act. With overwhelming parent support and the Edmonton Public School Board Trustees’ unanimous vote on May 11, 2004, Meadowlark Christian School was added as an Alternative Program offered by Edmonton Public Schools.
Meadowlark Christian School provides a thriving educational environment for students from ECS (Kindergarten) through grade nine.
The Meadowlark Christian School building is owned by the MCS Foundation Ltd. which is financially stable and does not carry long-term debt.
